IPC-13 in INDIA Nov 25-Dec 2
Time to gather again has come: Aranya Agricultural Alternatives is excited to welcome you in India this year for the 13th International Permaculture Convergence (IPC) scheduled from November 25 to December 2, 2017 in Hyderabad, Telangana. Happening every two years since 1985, IPCs are 100% solution focused events drawing the best and the brightest permaculturists and other sustainable living practitioners from around the world to help put together visionary solutions for a better world. Simultaneously, this event will be the perfect occasion to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the permaculture movement in India.
The theme of IPC India 2017 is ‘Towards Healthy Societies’, supported by six specific strands of activity which are now more than ever seen as key topics at the heart of permaculture projects across the globe:
Women as Agents of Change
Permaculture as a Social Responsibility
Grassroots Permaculture in Action
Permaculture and Climate Change Adaptions
Revitalising & Preserving Traditional Farming Practices
Sustainable Water Resource Management
The International Permaculture Convergence will be held in two distincts segments. Come and join hands with like-minded people to think, share, innovate, learn, dialogue together in a diverse and engaging programme and listen to 100+ speakers. CONVERGENCE Nov 27-Dec 2
Polam Farm, 85km from Hyderabad
An opportunity for PDC holders to connect more deeply with each other and the theme. The Convergence is a five-day residential, experiential learning forum where the program emerges out from the contributions of the participants through demonstrations and hands-on experiences.
The IPC India 2017 will guide and inspire more than 1000+ participants from 50+ countries. Permaculturists, sustainability thinkers and followers, policy makers, researchers, academicians, the young and the seasoned, rural and urban – all converge to strategize and design regenerative solutions to the global environmental challenges.
India boasts a diversity of climates and resulting landscapes, from deserts to alpine tundra to rain-forests to islands. Each of these regions come with their own unique challenges that have been solved through local, traditional practices in sustainable ways. A gathering of experts from these traditions will surely offer a significant impetus to the permaculture movement in India and around the world, as well as a new perspective on sustainable livelihoods. People from other parts of the world may be facing similar issues, and will benefit directly or be inspired by these shared experiences and solutions. Cross-cultural learning will be at the heart of the event.
IPC offers you a rare experience to gain access to the whole philosophy of permaculture, acquire new technical skills from experienced and renowned practitioners, showcase your work, learn and revive ancient Indian agricultural practices and bolster a positive global movement already underway.
