A Social Permaculture Masterclass with Robyn Francis

People Care is central to permaculture ethics and practice, yet too often overshadowed by the more tangible realms of plants, animals, technology and landscape design. Social design needs to be integrated into all of our systems and a lack of good social practice and design can undermine the best projects and endeavours.  Through this course you will develop social permaculture skills for working with people and learn the art of creative and inclusive facilitation—whether you’re involved in community gardens, Permaculture groups, transition initiatives, teaching or sustainable development work—you need effective facilitation skills and tools to harness community energy and empower people to be the change. Creative facilitation for participatory process, balancing challenge and conviviality is key to success.

We will also explore ways to acknowledge and work through the stages and waves of grief, despair and solastalgia that can so easily overwhelm the earth activist in the face of ecocide, environmental destruction and climate chaos. We live in challenging time and need to be well equipped with strategies to move forward, emotionally, spiritually, physically and intellectually, through the great transition.

Through this short intensive course, Robyn Francis shares 3 decades of international experience in community facilitation and participatory process in diverse situations and cultural landscapes.
