Integrated Cert III & IV Learning Program
The integrated Cert III/IV program is built on the common set of underlying knowledge and skills central to both qualifications and includes the PDC (Permaculture Design Course). The program also contains dedicated sessions and modules specific to each certificate level. Diploma core units are covered together with Certificate IV core during the first semester and diploma students can choose up to 2 units from Cert IV electives.
Semester 1 OverviewIntake for Certificates III, Certificate IV and Diploma
The CORE program runs 3 days/week plus an extra day for Cert IV & Diploma students Term 1CORE: PDC (Permaculture Design Course), surveying, communications, IT & web skills, preparing maps & plans, practical gardening, composting, soil management, animal systems, natural building, implementation planning. Cert IV & Dip: above plus design graphics, client brief, concept & detail drawings, bills of quantity, report writing. Term 2 CORE: botany, propagation, food forests & orchards, native plants in pc, integrated pest and weed management, planning food security, small crop production – veg, herbs, spices, craft plants, harvest & post harvest, storing and preserving crops, community event organisation and management, organising & promoting annual June Open Day, Bushfoods and Restoration Ecology Certificate IV & Diploma: above core program plus promoting community programs, develop community networks, urban design projects and design studio.
