A Living Learn-scapeDjanbung Gardens was founded in 1993 as a purpose-built living, learning environment for Permaculture Education and permaculture demonstration site. Founded and designed by Robyn Francis, Djanbung Gardens attracts visitors and students from around the world. Djanbung Gardens is the home of Permaculture College Australia.
OPEN HOURS: Wed - Sat 10.30am-3pm TOURS: Guided Tours 11am Saturdays, other times by appointment ($25/$15) Self-Guide Tours (with coloured explanatory map ) during open hours ($7/$5) Group Visits for schools, TAFE, university and community groups available by appontment - enquire about our group visit fee structure and options for talks, tours and catering (lunches and refreshments)

Volunteering at Djanbung GardensContact us if you would like to experience Djanbung Gardens as a volunteer and make a contribution to this inspiring showcase of sustainable living and design. Volunteers should enquire about earning course credits through our Work-for-Wisdom and FairShare scholarship programs. There are several options are available for volunteers: Non-residential volunteers - please register with us as a casual volunteer for specific activities (see list below) or general gardening for a few hours up to a few days per week. Residential volunteers - similar to a wwoofing arrangement this option is generally available to former students, people who've already undertaken some permaculture training or who have specific skills we are seeking. Volunteers can live on site for an agreed period of time as campers, and at times there may be accommodation available in the railway carriages. Volunteers have full access to on-site student resources, student kitchen, internet access and extensive reference library. (NB Food is not included in the exchange) One of the key periods for longer term residential volunteering is from mid October through to mid-February. Specific Skills we are seeking at present: Building, painting, handy person, bamboo construction, DIY appropriate technologies Marketing and promotion, graphic design, video & film Landscaping and rock work Bush regeneration Archiving and establishing archive storage systems
