Costa Geordiadis, host of ABC’s Gardening Australia, enjoyed experiencing a number of ‘first-time’ moments last weekend with his first visit to Nimbin and Djanbung Gardens, first cafe opening, first permalympics and no-dig garden relay, first time judging scarecrows and was the first time he’d had a ‘Costa’ balloon crafted and presented to him.
Sharon Shostak of the Byron Echo captured some of the atmosphere in this great short video
Over 500 people participated in the events over the weekend, some coming from as far away as Sydney and Brisbane. The PCA and Djanbung team extend a big thank you to all who contributed to making the weekend of events such a success, to all our wonderful volunteers, to Costa for making the time in his busy schedule, to local businesses and groups for their support and donations of prizes, especially Blue Knob Farmers Market, Hemping Around and Tracy Lewis, to Neil Pike, Kaeidescope Chris, the Nimbin Fire troupe, musicians and bands.
